To round off the summer school holiday, East Street Museum in Rye will be holding a children’s craft afternoon on Friday September 1 from 2-4pm, writes Heather Stevenson. Children can come dressed as their favourite character, and there will also be some dressing-up clothes to try on. Crafts will include mask making, making a pirate hat and accessories. Come and have a fun afternoon at the museum, £2 per child with accompanying adult.

A woman on holiday in Camber was taken ill by the pool at Pontins on Wednesday and was moved by air ambulance  to hospital, where she has since died. Her death has been reported to the coroner and, although details are not known, is believed to be of natural causes.
