Royals spotted at Jempson’s

Royals spotted at Jempson’s

Perhaps it was no surprise that the Duke of Sussex should pop across to Rye to celebrate Sussex Day, on Saturday June 16, writes Seana Lanigan. True, he was looking a little younger than normal, but no doubt married life suits him. His grandma, the Queen, was in the back seat with her husband Prince Philip next to her. The front passenger seat was empty but we assume Meghan, Duchess of Sussex had popped into the supermarket to stock up on necessities. On Saturdays, you can often pick up a bargain.

Murder served and solved

June 21 2018.

The murder-mystery fundraising supper held at the St Mary Centre on June 8 proved a really great evening, writes Chris Emson. 60 plus people came and we cleared £550 to help raise funds for an outreach worker for Family Support Work to help Rye families in difficulties. The Playden players did us proud; they wrote a special play based on our poster A  Murder is Served. Everyone enjoyed the evening  and some guessed who the murderer was. A ploughman’s supper  was enjoyed and I want to thank all my helpers and everyone for coming.
