An evening of Raggae with the Gabbidon Band
An evening of reggae with Gabbidon

After an enjoyable afternoon gig with the Rye Ukulele Experiment at a private function followed by an hour’s rest I was whisked off to Hastings Old Town to the Stade (an open space close to the Jerwood Art Gallery) where an African band Afla Sackey and Afrik Bawantu as well as the Mayotte Dancers from the archipelago of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean, performed on the stage.

It was their first performance ever in the UK and the music was very lively. At the end of the evening Gabiddon brought everyone, more than hundred people, to their feet dancing to the great sound of this reggae band. The atmosphere was full of joy on this beautiful evening with a fantastic red sky as a backdrop.
