Friends and patrons of the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival were given a fascinating preview of next year’s event, at the Festival’s annual private party recently and were also treated to an indication of what joys will be forthcoming, by a powerfully affecting performance of Schubert’s first piano trio D.898 given by the Festival’s two Directors, Anthony Marwood (violin) and Richard Lester (cello).

They were joined by their pianist colleague Alasdair Beatson and the three combined to magical effect, reminding all who heard them of the Rye area’s immense good fortune in having the Festival as one of the brightest jewels in its cultural crown, 2018 being the event’s 20th season.
