Cocktail Pianist plays again

If you missed the Hastings Fringe production of The Cocktail Pianist last month at the Creative Centre, Rye, there’s another opportunity to enjoy this play in Northiam Village Hall on Saturday November 25 at 8pm. Written and performed by Mike Hatchard, this play-cum-recital was premiered at the Brighton Festival to rave reviews earlier this year.

He acts the part of a man who might have been a great concert pianist if only things had gone just a little differently.

Instead he is reduced to near invisibility as a background musician at an airport hotel with a challenged personality. Musically compelling, often amusing but always tender, Hatchard plays his own virtuosic accomplishment – making this both a play and a recital at the same time.

Tickets are £10 on the door.
