Charlie Cobb was the artist in residence at last year’s Rye Arts Festival. He now returns to Rye with an exhibition at the Art Gallery of drawings and paintings made both in the landscape and back at his studio in Brighton, writes Kenneth Bird. With the permission of Barry Yates, Manager of the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Charlie spent three days in a caravan on the Reserve, drawing and painting scenes of the beach, capturing its various moods in a colourful palette. The exhibition is open until October 16, 10:30am – 5pm weekdays and 12 noon till 4pm Sundays, free admission.
