When five-year-old Saroo gets lost on a train it takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home. This is a beautifully told story of courage and determination starring starring Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and Rooney Mara

Hacksaw Ridge [15] 139 mins Nominated for five Baftas including Best Actor
Hacksaw Ridge is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss, who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of the Second World War, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he singlehandedly evacuated the wounded from  behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector to ever earn the Congressional Medal of Honor. Directed by Mel Gibson and starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington and Luke Bracey.

 La La Land [12A] 128 mins
This is the delightful story of Mia, an aspiring actress, and Sebastian, a dedicated jazz musician, struggling to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in a city known for destroying hopes and breaking hearts. With modern-day Los Angeles as the backdrop, this musical about everyday life explores what is more important: a once-in-a-lifetime love or the spotlight. Winner of seven Golden Globe awards, written and directed by Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) and starring Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, JK Simmons, Rosemarie DeWitt, Amiée Conn and John Legend.

The Eagle Huntress [U] 87 mins. Subtitled. Nominated for Best Documentary BAFTA award 
Set against the breathtaking landscape of the Mongolian Altai mountains and featuring some of the most awe-inspiring  cinematography ever captured in a documentary, The Eagle Huntress is the story of a 13-year-old girl and her quest to become the first female eagle hunter in 12 generations of her Kazakh family. Tickets £10 including a regular glass of wine, coffee or soft drink.

The Magnificent Seven (1960) [PG] 128 mins
The enduring classic. Charles Bronson, Yul Brynner, Horst Buchholz, James Coburn, Brad Dexter, Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn and Eli Wallach star in the story of a bunch of seven gunfighters hired to protect a small Mexican village from marauding bandits.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped and no one knows why. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana is about an adventurous teenager who, with help from demigod Maui sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and save her people. With the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Auli’i Cravalho and Nicole Scherzinger.
