Hands of Hope, the charity using growing and cooking healthy, nutritious food to tackle childhood obesity and loneliness asks you to turn your preloved items into reloved ones to help them raise funds.
Are you having a spring clean or a big clear out? Then Hands of Hope want to hear from you. Everyone knows the saying: “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure,” and here is your chance to turn your unwanted goods into cash for this inspirational charity.
With childhood obesity and loneliness being two of the biggest challenges in the 21st century, the organisation hopes to tackle these through developing their scheme at their newly acquired site in Hawkhurst, making it a place to grow, learn, meet and enjoy.
But first they need to raise more funds and ask that you contribute your surplus items to them, which will then be auctioned from Rye Auction Rooms and on eBay. Whether you have coins, rugs, antiques, books, furniture, vintage clothes, glassware – virtually anything of value – these could be turned into cash to benefit the community.
Please contact the team via the links below and arrange to donate your items. Collection is possible in certain circumstances.
The contact details are the same if you would like to find out more about what the group does; maybe you would like to volunteer your time to help? There are plenty of varied roles available.
Currently farming four acres of organic land in Peasmarsh, the charity needs to raise £1.4m to develop an 18-acre site in Hawkhurst, Kent called The Wall. They will create a kitchen garden, a cooking school, greenhouse, seminar room and more. The site will also serve as a valuable community and activity centre for young children, families and the elderly.
