Rye is full of gin with, we believe, one of the biggest selections in the south east. On the Rye News gin trail you will find more than 120 gins to choose from with a choice of 60 at the Mermaid and 40 at the Globe. Although not on the trail, the George stocks 22 different gins from around the world and is worth a visit.
The Rye news gin trail starts on Friday with eight outlets to visit buy a drink, a miniature or a full size bottle of gin and receive a token from the The Bell at Iden, The Globe in Military Road, Queens Head in Landgate, Kings Head on Rye Hill, The Mermaid Inn, Olde Worlde Wine Bar in Cinque Ports Street, the Rye Deli in Market Road, Salt Farm Shop at East Guldeford.
Collect all the tokens for a chance to win a bottle of gin.
A fun gin night finishes the week with cocktails, quiz and deciding the winner of the trail at the Mermaid with experienced cocktail shaker is Chris Cogen who has opened cocktail bars in some of London’s top hotels, including the Lanesborough, Langham Hilton, the Berkeley, St James Crowne Plaza, The Halcyon and London Capital Club.
