Many of us had a great afternoon, yet again, on Monday May 29 at the Plough on the Udimore Road at Cock Marling (two miles from Rye). Luckily the threatened rain held off as the music was outside.

The Louis Turpin and Roger Hubbard Band played their annual afternoon gig in the garden of the pub. Blues man and artist Louis was supported by top-class local musicians Roger Hubbard, Liam Genockey and Colin Gibson. We, his fans, were all pleased to see Louis back on form as he has just recovered from a successful knee-replacement operation.

The Plough is a country pub with a rustic interior, two log burners and a beer garden where the music happens. The food is locally produced and home cooked. If anyone would like to treat themselves, go to www.theploughrye.co.uk
