As usual, the annual Northiam fete was a triumph, with crowds of people piling in from all over the country to enjoy the best of British with local bands, stalls and a fiercely competitive dog show, writes Seana Lanigan. Pictured here are the Sykes family  from Surrey clutching their stash of prizes. Poppy Sykes, at the bottom of the photograph, won cutest puppy. Natasha Sykes, bottom left (winner of Best Dog Handler under 16) said “we all had such a lovely day and were very excited and pleased to win”. Edward Sykes, bottom right, won the football competition but decided to donate his winnings to Northiam Bonfire Society. Mrs Rita Silver, top right,  clutches a hard earned coconut and patriarch, Jeremy Sykes is pictured top left.
