La Maison du Vin Wine Bar and Antiques is opening soon at the White Vine House, 24 High Street, Rye, where the Ambrette restaurant was until its recent move. Louis Swann of La Maison Dress Agency in the High Street, says he wants to create an intimate lounge, secluded from the bustling street outside: “Expect classic elegance, together with quality antiques and rather exquisite wines. Of course, champagne is always the star of any show and will be one of the many options available by the glass.”
Initially opening times will be 10.30am – 11pm from Thursday to Sunday. Charcuterie and cheese boards will be available for those looking for a snack to enjoy with a glass of wine. Swann is joined in the venture by John Boyall of Wishbarn Antiques. The antiques area opened on Friday February 27 and the wine bar will emerge over the next fortnight. [Source: Louis Swann]
