A jogger was surprised to find what she took to be a dolphin lying on the beach at Camber last week. Charlotte Axbey took a picture of the corpse and took it to Market Fisheries, where they identified it as a porpoise.
The porpoise is not the only exotic animal to have been found locally in recent weeks. Last month a thresher shark was captured by fishermen off Eastbourne and was later shipped off to France to be eaten.
