A free course for budding entrepreneurs is being offered in East Sussex. Housing association Optivo is offering residents the chance to turn their passion into a profession.

Hopeful entrepreneurs are being invited to attend a free training course which will help them get their business ideas off the ground.

They’ll learn how to start a business without any money, how to generate sales from social media and how to make a website without any technical skills.

The course runs from Monday, June 3, to Friday, June 7, at the Hastings United Sports and Social Club.

There’s also an opportunity to meet the team and previous participants at the Indoor Market held on Monday May 27 at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings.

The course is being run as part of the Increase VS programme, the first large-scale micro-enterprise training programme tailored specifically for social housing residents and communities.

It’s led by Optivo in partnership with nine other housing associations and training providers in England and France.

The organiser, Rhys Williams, is keen to run a Rye course and it is being considered for later this year or early next but there are concerns at present regarding a suitable venue.

Places are limited for the Hastings course – to book your place visit the course website,
or for more information contact Rhys Williams at increase@optivo.org.uk or text ‘IVS’ to 0771 863 5727.
