Landslip brings four-car trains

A landslip on the line at Wadhurst on Wednesday (March 13) has resulted in the line between Robertsbridge and Tunbridge Wells being closed for an unknown period described as “a number of days”.

SouthEastern has laid on replacement buses and, of relevance to Rye train users, is permitting travel along the MarshLink to Ashford and onwards to London Charing Cross/Victoria at no extra cost.

Meanwhile, four-car units are operating on the MarshLink service to absorb additional passenger numbers during the line closure.
