After the tragic events which occurred off Camber this summer, the Gallivant will be hosting a delicious Fish Supper on Sunday  October 16 from 6pm, in support of this country’s extraordinary public service, the RNLI, who are dedicated to saving lives at sea around the coasts of Britain and Ireland.

All proceeds from the Fish Supper will be donated directly to the RNLI, allowing not only The Gallivant but also friends, past guests and locals to show their support and appreciation for what the RNLI do, 365 days of the year.

The local RNLI volunteers stationed in Rye Harbour were actively involved in the recent tragedies and performed in an exemplary fashion in what must have been extremely stressful conditions. Unfortunately, Camber is not one of the 200 beaches in the UK that has an RNLI Lifeguard posted on it during the summer months, however, the Gallivant would like to try and help change that for 2017. It believes that profile and fund raising events, like this one, could really help influence the opinion of the local authorities, in order for them to provide the vital funding required to station a RNLI lifeguard at Camber for 2017.

A simple yet scrumptious menu is yet to be decided, but the price will be £15 for two courses served on trestle tables with the potential of some musical accompaniment in the Beach Hut Marquee. Guests are invited to bring along a bottle, but are also reminded that every penny received on the night (food, drinks and tips) will go straight into the pocket of the RNLI.
