Last Saturday June 17, on a glorious summer’s evening, Rye Harbour Sailing Club (RHSC) and The Friends of Iden Church jointly held their fund raising Summer Barn Dance at Oxenbridge, Iden.
Although the day had been very hot, by the evening it had cooled sufficiently for 72 people to enjoy dancing, or just listening, to the music of The Isle of Oxney Barn Dance Band. During the interval, a delicious cheese and ham ploughman’s supper, provided by the Bell Inn, was served.
After all expenses had been paid, the proceeds of £940 were shared equally between RHSC and The Friends. We would like to thank all the volunteers, helpers and those who supported us.
