Thank you to Kenneth [Kenneth Bird, founder of Rye News]for advising the death of my uncle Peter in Rye News and for his and Margaret’s kind letter this week to Joyce. I can confirm that this was much appreciated. As you say his funeral has been arranged for Monday September 5 at Hastings Crematorium and whilst there will be no flowers we are asking that any donations should be made to the Rye Memorial Hospital which was so important to Peter as councillor and mayor.
