Rye’s indoor cricket team looked to continue their unbeaten record as they kicked off the new season against Hastings & St Leonard’s Priory CC in the EACA Midweek Indoor League Division 3.

Rye bowled first and limited the opposition to 80 all out, with only one of the batsmen causing any sort of difficulty. In reply James Hamilton and Dan Seabrook both went off like rockets, quickly having to retire not out on 25 a piece. The job then fell to William Wheeler and Mickey Toomey who took Rye over the winning line with 81 for no loss.

Indoor team: Dan Seabrook, James Hamilton, Gary Willis, Mickey Toovey, Spencer Fielding and William Wheeler. Their next match is on Tuesday November 3 against Ashburnham at Horntye Park in Hastings.
