Great-crested Grebes dance on the water together displaying their tippets, while male Lapwings sky-dive noisily in order to impress their prospective mates. All around us male birds will be singing to attract females and aggressively mark out their territories against local rivals. Nests will be built, females start egg-laying and it won’t be long before there are hungry mouths to feed.
