DESCRIPTION:A film by British avant-garde filmmaker Nichola Bruce, ‘The Romance of Bricks’ is a poignant portrait of the artist Liz Finch: painter, performer and poet.\nThe film is a surreal and intimate account of Liz’s life, spanning her childhood in Lancashire, her time at art school, a life-changing accident and arriving on the London scene in the early 80s.\nLiz speaks candidly about her work, testament to the trust between her and Nichola. The film includes interviews with Jools Holland, Richard Strange and Nicola Bateman Bowery speaking about their admiration of Liz and her work.\nThere is a book available to purchase from Rye Art Gallery, ‘The Romance of the Bricks – The Art of Liz Finch’ as seen in the film by Nichola Bruce.\nThis screening is a free event with limited ticket availability, due to space so please email the gallery to secure your place\nryeartgallery@gmail.com\n
