DESCRIPTION:‘Pathways’ drawing workshop in conjunction with the current exhibition at Rye Art Gallery.\nDrawing Workshop at Pett Level with Jane Beecham & Denise Franklin\nSaturday July 20th 2024\n10 – 4pm\n£60\nThis event is limited to 10 places\nJoin Denise and Jane for a whole day’s workshop that challenges notions of what is accepted ’drawing’ – pushing boundaries and encouraging an enjoyable discovery of personal style.\nPaper and inks will be supplied- a list of required materials and equipment will be sent to all participants.\nUsing mindful breathing techniques, blind drawing and active listening, you will start the day with intuitive mark-making using tools found on the beach at Pett Level.\nAfter lunch, you will spend the afternoon on the beach considering composition and the laying down of light washes to encompass ‘working white’ creating a receptive base layer for drawings that allow light depth and perspective.\nAfter the workshop the gallery have kindly extended an invitation for an after hours private view of the Pathways exhibition with complimentary drinks where Jane and Denise will be happy to discuss their processes and practices in more depth.\nTickets are available via email from Denise and Jane directly:\njanebeecham@live.com\ndenisefranklin@icloud.com\n
