DESCRIPTION:\nThe Rye Annual Tennis Tournament takes place at Rye Lawn Tennis Club from 2nd – 5th August 2024 and welcomes players from all over the world and of all standards. This year students from both Harvard and Yale will be taking part.\nThe tournament consists of:\n\nOpen Men’s Singles – start time 11am Friday 2nd August\nOpen Ladies’ Singles – start time 12 noon Friday 2nd August\nOpen Mixed Doubles – start time 3.30pm Friday 2nd August\nOpen Men’s Doubles – start time 2pm Saturday 3rd August\nOpen Ladies’ Doubles – start time 2pm Saturday 3rd August\nHandicap Men’s Singles – start time 9.15am Saturday 3rd August\nHandicap Ladies’ Singles – start time 10.30am Saturday 3rd August\nHandicap Mixed Doubles – start time 9.15am Sunday 4th August\n\nParking\nCar parking by the courts is £10 per day, £25 for 3 days. There is free car parking available in the adjoining field.\nCatering\nLunches and teas will be available each day. Only Members and Temporary Members over 18 are allowed to buy alcoholic drinks in the Club.\nCourts\nPlayers should note that they may sometimes have to play on surfaces other than grass.\nIt is the responsibility of competitors to find out when they are due to play. They may be disqualified if not at the ground at the start time. Please note the order of play for the first day will be posted on the club’s website. Other than on the Friday, play will start from 9.15am each day.\nThe Committee regrets that refunds cannot be made after the withdrawal date.\nAll semi-finals and finals, except the 2 open singles, are scheduled for the Monday, so PLEASE SCRATCH AT MATCH POINT IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE ON THE SUNDAY. Also if you wish to pull out of the tournament at any time, please advise the referee.\nA Tournament BBQ/Dance will be held on Saturday evening.
