DESCRIPTION:Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.\n\n\n\nBeach stretch:\nGalloways, Lydd Ranges\n\n\nDate and time:\n20 Sep 2025, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.\n\n\nMeeting point:\nGalloways car park, Dungeness (directions will be sent out a few days before the event).\n\n\nCapacity:\n15 volunteers – 10 spaces left\n\n\nSchool friendly?\nNo\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a challenging, but fascinating event, involving a 40-minute walk over shingle to reach our survey area, so is not suitable for young children or anyone with mobility issues.  We will then walk back with all the rubbish.\nFull details will be sent out (including how to get to the meeting point) a few days before the event. Dungeness is a remote and mysterious place and we could find absolutely anything. Treasure has been found here!\n\n\n\nAlso worth knowing…\n\nWhat to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).\nWhat to wear: If you’re picking up litter with your hands it’s worth wearing a strong pair of gloves – like gardening gloves – just to make sure you’re protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.\nUnder 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.\n\n\n
