SUMMARY:Pett Level GBBC
DESCRIPTION:harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.\n\n\n\nBeach stretch:\nPett Level\n\n\nDate and time:\n27 Sep 2025, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.\n\n\nMeeting point:\nMeet outside St Nicolas Church, Pett Level. Parking is along Pett Level Road (be careful of busy traffic) but is limited. The 101 bus runs hourly between Hastings and Rye.\n\n\nCapacity:\n20 volunteers – 13 spaces left\n\n\nSchool friendly?\nNo\n\n\n\n\n\nStrandliners have been conducting these surveys for 20 years and have a wealth of experience and knowledge around litter.\nThere will be a general beach clean as well as the 100-metre MCS survey. These events are always a great social occasion.\nBring a snack and a drink if you wish. Please ensure you have appropriate footwear and are prepared for the weather conditions at the time (hat, sunscreen, raincoat etc).\nWe look forward to meeting everyone on the day and will email in the week beforehand to update about weather conditions etc.\n\n\n\nAlso worth knowing…\n\nWhat to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).\nWhat to wear: If you’re picking up litter with your hands it’s worth wearing a strong pair of gloves – like gardening gloves – just to make sure you’re protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.\nUnder 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.\n\n\n
