At Dungeness A the process is not just about dismantling structures – it’s about developing expertise and creating opportunities for future generations.\n \nA 2024 residents survey revealed that:\n70% of survey respondents valued Dungeness A site as a good employer.\n50% of Dungeness residents think they know at least ‘a fair amount’ about the site.\n47% agreed that hospitality has the largest positive impact on the local economy.\n \nDo you agree? \nPlease come along and find out more about the work delivered by Nuclear Restoration Services, while sharing your thoughts at an upcoming interactive digital exhibition, designed to spark lively conversations and gather community input.\nEach event will be an opportunity for the community to witness the exciting changes underway at Dungeness A site and actively shape its future. Attendees will be invited to explore and contribute to a range of alternative possibilities, which could include:\n \n\nRenewable energy projects \nRewilding projects \nLeisure facilities\nOr something completely different\n\n \nIan Cuthbert, Dungeness A Site Director, said: “Hosting a community exhibition focused on decommissioning is one essential way for us to reach different audiences in our community. We want to share more information about the work that we’re delivering and seek views that could influence future decisions.  \n \n“In national workshops, younger participants highlighted the importance of long-term community benefits, such as access to skilled employment, and enhanced local amenities.  \n \n“By directly engaging all of our community, including young people from Dungeness in the conversation, the exhibition provides an opportunity to demystify the decommissioning process, emphasise our focus on safety and sustainability, and connect its outcomes to their aspirations for the region’s future.” \n
