We are a federation of two small, rural, Church of England schools in Beckley and Peasmarsh villages in East Sussex, near Rye. We are looking to recruit two new Foundation Governors who would be appointed by the Diocese of Chichester, to support the Christian Life of the Schools first and foremost.
Applicants will have their own Christian faith and a genuine belief in the value and importance of CE schools. You would be expected to be a regular attendee, at least monthly, at your local church.
Beckley and Peasmarsh are typical village Church schools very much at the heart of their communities and parish. Both are half-form entry, and the year groups from Reception to Year 6 are in 4 mixed classes, with 4 teaching staff at each school.
Both schools make good use of outside space and the context of the local area.
Along with our other Foundation Governor, you would be expected to serve on our Ethos Committee, which monitors our Christian Vision and Life of the schools, and if you have other areas of interest, there may be opportunities around standards of education, vulnerable pupils, safeguarding or health and safety, for example.
Please do contact either the Chair of Governors or the Headteachers if you are interested or want more information.
