We are looking for an experienced, dedicated Fishmonger to manage the running of the busy counter at the Peasmarsh Superstore, over a 40-hour, 5-day week (Tuesday – Saturday) with an immediate start.
Duties will include:
Monitor the running of the counter and contribute any suggestions for continuous improvements
Placing orders with existing suppliers
Ensuring that all products received are to the required high standard
Descaling fish, removing bones, gutting and cleaning
Cleaning, preparing and displaying the slab ready for the days sales
Serving customers and giving advice on different fish, which cuts to use, how to cook it and how to store it
You must have:
Experience in handling and preparation of a variety of fresh fish
Relevant experience in a retail environment
Understanding of Food Hygiene regulations, personal safety procedures including the handling and use of knives and machinery
Passion about delivering great customer service
Excellent people skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team
A ‘Can Do’ attitude
Own transport is essential.
