A new beacon for Rye is in the planning stages. A BP petrol station at the top of Udimore Road with shop and parking will light up our night skies every night if planning permission is granted.
This B road seems the least appropriate place to put a petrol station. It is one of the loveliest approaches to the town. Amidst all the changes that have been allowed in Rye during the last few years, it’s hard to imagine a worse one that this.
I urge anyone else who thinks this is a bad idea to contact Rother District Council as soon as possible and say so.
