A packed church for the fair

St Mary’s church was packed last Saturday for the Christmas Fair with many familiar faces both behind the stalls, and in front of them, selling and purchasing the many choices available from a wide mix of church and other local organisations.

The coffee and refreshment area in the side chapel was doing good business, with the Chair of the Friends of St Mary’s, Anthony Kimber in fine form, though my own efforts on the tombola and with the raffle were unsuccessful.

However one of St Mary’s vergers (wearing a different hat as President of the Bonfire Society) sold me a nearly complete set of the TV series “Allo, allo” which should help me get through Christmas and cheer me up after the election.

St Mary’s – packed with stalls, people and conversations.
