Adopt a rescue cat

Bluebell Ridge Cat Rehoming Centre in Chowns Hill, Hastings, had its yearly open day on Sunday, May 25, with a variety of stalls and fun for the whole family. At the same time people could wonder round the cattery with the many rescued cats, young and old, tabby, black and white, some lounging, others happy to interact with the children or adults interested. They are very well looked after though it is sad to see so many in need of good homes.

Picnics, music, cakes and fun to raise money

There was plenty of room to picnic, enjoying the many wonderful home baked cakes and coffee. And not least, the public was entertained by the Rye Ukulele Experiment band which has been asked back for several years now.

It was lovely to watch young children (up to about three or four years old) dancing to the songs. Further events are coming up at the centre: the Summer Fair July 21; Autumn Fair, September 22; Halloween Fun Day October 27 and Christmas Fun Day, December 1.
