Saturday May 16 sees the end of Christian Aid Week, helping the poor to help themselves, and envelopes have been circulated in churches and by the churches which volunteers will be collecting shortly. Also on Saturday, La Maison (think antiques, clothes etc) is celebrating its first year in Rye with wine tasting and jazz in the White Vine House from 7pm, and a Country House Attic Sale is being held Winchelsea New Hall featuring exotic plants and seeds, antiques, bric-a-brac, and vintage and second hand clothes. The sale is in aid of Rye, Winchelsea & District Memorial Hospital, entry is £5 at 10.30am and £1 at 11am, and there will be refreshments, home made cakes and a raffle.
