College donates food

We would like to extend our thanks to all of our Rye College community for their generous donations for our end of term non-uniform day. After an extremely well thought out and expertly written letter to Mr Downes, head of college, from two of our year 7 students, Dennis and Isabel, the decision was made to have a Halloween themed non-uniform day on the final day of term one.

Instead of monetary donations, families were asked to donate an item of food to contribute towards the Rye Food Bank. As seen by the photos the response has been fantastic!

Mr Downes said: “This was a great opportunity for families of Rye College to offer their help and support to our community – and I would like to thank everyone for their kind contributions.”

A massive thank you goes to students Dennis and Isabel (pictured) for their suggestion and to all of our students, parents and families for their kind and thoughtful donations. We wish all of our families a happy and restful half term break.
