Tilling Green Community Friends will soon be reaching its third year since its formation and all the volunteers, young helpers, clients and friends of the group will be celebrating yet another year of success. There have been moments this year when some volunteers have had to concentrate on other commitments or have experienced personal events that have prevented them being as active in carrying out tasks for the group, but there have always been other volunteers who have put themselves forward to give a ‘helping hand’ to both clients and the volunteers who need it.

Due to personal commitments our secretary has found it necessary to stand down and due to work commitments our treasurer wants to stand down as well so if there is anyone living on the Tilling Green Estate or at Badger Gate that is interested in filling either of these positions then please contact me on the number below. There is no expectation of either the secretary or the treasurer to be active in doing tasks for clients, in fact it is felt by many of the committee that officers of the group should just be in that one role.

If you are at all interested in joining our group please attend our AGM on November 11th (see below) or contact me or one of the other volunteers of the group. We also have three spaces for Young Helpers to join in January if any 8-19 year olds are interested.

Tilling Green Community Friends will be hosting another Tea and Cakes afternoon on Tuesday October 28th at the Tilling Green Community Centre in Mason Road, Tilling Green between 3pm and 5pm. If you have items for the bring and buy stall, or raffle prizes for the raffle please contact Barbara on 01797 223412 or mobile 07972 262973 who will be happy to collect them.

On Tuesday November 11th its our AGM at the Tilling Green Community Centre from 7pm until 8pm.

Barbara Partridge said “the support from other volunteer groups, local organisations and the local shops on the estate and in Rye has been great this year and there are just too many to thank here individually so thank you to everybody that has helped us this year.”
