Diwali is the festival of lights, celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists every autumn in the northern hemisphere. it is the biggest event of the year and will be celebrated at the Devil in Rye on October 25.

One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”. Light is a metaphor for knowledge and consciousness. During the celebration, temples, homes, shops and office buildings are brightly illuminated.

To mark the occasion, Bhavik Haria and friends will perform a selection of traditional and modern Indian music, including a selection of popular Bollywood songs.

They have more than 20 years’ experience playing at Diwali celebrations all over the world. Bhavik Haria will play the harmonium and be joined by the tabla.
