Immediately after Bank Holiday Monday Hasting’s Folk Fest is limbering up to entertain, involve and surprise visitors at twelve different venues and with more than 30 different acts, writes Seana Lanigan. The festival, in its second year, sees events in pubs, bars, restaurants and even a cinema and, as well as many live music performances, it also includes sessions where anyone can turn up and belt out a tune, or have a bit of a fiddle, or even learn some new dancing techniques from France and Sweden. Also included is the final concert by folk super-group The Full English and a concert featuring a range of historic, traditional musical instruments from across Europe. The festival runs May 5-10.
