Iden and Playden Garden Society members came up trumps again on Saturday at their spring show, producing a feast of colour and perfume in Iden Village Hall, writes Yvonne Metcalf. The society is small but the judges never fail to be impressed by the high quality of the exhibits. Trophies were awarded to Janet Johnson for the daffodil classes and the most points overall in the show; Trish Evans for floral art; and Yvonne Metcalf for craft. Delicious cream teas were provided by Carol Worwood. The summer show will be held on June 13, again in the village hall, starting at 2:30pm and with trophy presentation at roughly 3:30pm. The Sunday afternoon before, June 7, there will be a chance to see what’s behind some of the hedges in the village when the open gardens are held in aid of The Friends of Iden Church.
