Sandra Crawley from Rye Harbour has set up a meet-and-greet social club for the community of the Harbour. It started three weeks ago and lots of people have popped in to have a cup of tea and piece of cake.

There are games to play and there is always someone on hand to teach new skills. A little pampering takes place – hand massages have proved popular. Plenty of activities will be on offer in the future but for now those who have come have just enjoyed the chance to catch up and have a good laugh.

Sandra comes along with her 92-year-old mother and commented: “I am really pleased how well the idea has been received in the village but we want more people to come and join in the fun. The raffle has proved popular with nearly everyone winning a prize today. We meet at the Village Hall every Monday morning from 10:30am till 12 noon and new faces will always be welcome.”
