Nursery puts environment first

Last weekend (November 30 and December 1) Harborough Nurseries had a Christmas fair and, although that has now been and gone, there is still plenty to attract the decorative-conscious at the nurseries for the Christmas period.

If you do not know this nursery, it is an oasis of calm, set on a bend just above Icklesham and before Guestling on the A259 to the west of Rye. As you turn there is a row of hop pickers abodes but mind the very steep drive to the left.

Apart from the obvious home grown plants, the expertise of Tony Howard and Sebastian Haywood means that between them and their staff you can be assured of excellent advice.

The icing on the cake though is the environmentally friendly atmosphere and the current choices in gifts, wreaths, textiles and much more. The nursery is a refreshing change with its innovative thinking.
