Rotary supporting good causes

Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club are endeavouring to continue to support local good causes not only within our local community but, as Rotarians, we support good causes across the world. At our recent Club meeting, now being held on Zoom as a result of social distancing guidance, we approved the following payments to help those in need or trying to help others.

  • Rye Food Bank £500
  • Chestnut Tree House £300
  • Rye Wurlitzer Academy £200
  • Good Gifts (water pump) £165

During these difficult times, it is not always first in our minds to support others, but we must try. Certainly, in and around Rye and Winchelsea there have been many great offers of support to those shielding and those in need. Not only for the more obvious but also for perhaps the hidden, such as mental health issues.

The Rotary Club of Rye & Winchelsea is still here and helping those in need where we are able. A company called Surgimasks.com has set up a web site to offer the sale of face coverings, and for each box sold will make a donation of £2 to our Club.

This is a generous offer made by the business, and it will certainly help us to continue to support local charities and good causes during these strange times. If your interested and would like to support us please check out the web site.
