Sailability swing the night away

Saturday September 28 proved to be a wet and windy day which was not going to deter guests from attending an evening of Swing and Rat Pack music at The Hope Anchor in Rye.  The Rye Bay Crew Band played a wonderful selection of music that spanned decades of hits from ‘Putting on the Ritz’ to ‘Volare’ bringing back memories for some of days gone by.

The evening began with the drawing of the Rye Harbour Sailability 100 Club Lottery.  This is a great way to support Sailability by signing up to pay £5 a month with a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize to be won each month. The more that are in it, the more can be won from it! If you are interested in joining please email RHsailability100club@mail.com or call 01797 270802.

After a superbly cooked meal the mini auction was held followed by the raffle. The success of the evening was reflected in the amazing sum of £1,000 raised. This money will be added to the £11,500 already raised towards funding a rescue boat.

The next event

Very many thanks go to the Hope Anchor and Sailability Team for organising the event, as well as all those who came to make it such a successful evening. Grateful thanks go to the following businesses for supporting the event, The Rye Retreat, Paws ‘n Claws in Rye, The Gusbourne Estate, Red Letter Days, Wilson Wilson and Hancock Opticians in Rye, Concepts, Plaristo of Rye and commercial pilot Gary Merchant.
