Andrea and Howard Stoneman have reluctantly closed their wonderful shop at 22a Lion Street because personal commitments mean trailing from Hythe to Rye is no longer feasible for them and they have decided to concentrate on their Shepherd Hut Studios workshop and shop in Hythe at 13, Marine Walk Street. Not so far away at all, but they will be missed by many of us locally.
Inspired by the wonderful coastal surroundings, particularly Dungeness and the Kent coast around their Hythe home, Andrea’s art work is produced in her actual shepherd’s hut studio space. Howard who has been running the shop in Rye, is responsible in turn for the digital printing.
Well known for the original paintings and prints and amazing lampshades, digitally printed with local scenes, the shop is a treasure trove. Each piece is bespoke and as well as the images and lampshades, they also produce homeware like coasters, wallpaper and cushions, to be seen in many a Rye home, as pictured!
