Rother Environmental Group is holding its first actual meeting since early 2020 on Tuesday, May 25 at 7:15pm at the Rye Community Garden in Love Lane, Rye. John Tucker, director of woodland outreach, will be talking about where we are now in terms of tree cover and associated wildlife and then explore priorities for the future.

The Woodland Trust has also produced a recent report on the  “State of the UK’s Woods and Trees 2021”.

Before the talk, from 6:15pm onwards, there will be an opportunity to look round the community garden. Dominic Manning will be explaining where the garden is at and how the local community can get involved as volunteers.

In normal times, REG would also be welcoming non-members, but to limit numbers to no more than 30, this talk is open to members only. If you wish to join, apply here.

The community garden has a session every Saturday from 10am – 12 noon, and everyone is welcome. You don’t need to have gardening skills!
