Tractor run for local hospice

Forget your lie-in this Sunday, April 14, get the kids dressed in wellies and waterproofs and make your way over to The Cross Inn pub in Staplecross.

Yes it’s far too early for a quick snifter but get there for 8:30 am and you will witness something very special. If it’s anything like as popular as it was last year you will be amazed at the sight of at least 50 – yes 50 – tractors and trailers of all shapes and sizes, driven by a dedicated group of big hearted individuals assembling together for a cross country trip to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice.

The route is different each year and is kept a closely guarded secret until the last minute when everyone sets off along the country lanes having eaten their bacon rolls, later stopping at a half way point on the 26 mile route for refreshments and then in due course filtering off in various directions as these dedicated drivers make their way home.

Don’t miss it, they deserve your support and the kids will absolutely love it, mums and dads too.
