Fair Trade products on display

A surprisingly wide range of Fair Trade products was on sale at St Mary’s Centre on Saturday, September 19, during an event held to demonstrate and publicise Rye’s credentials as a Fair Trade Town.

In support, Rye Dance Centre  brought young students to show off their skills, and they certainly attracted a crowd of onlookers as they performed in the yard outside the Centre.

Unfortunately, this was not reflected in the number of prospective customers venturing inside the hall, writes Kenneth Bird. Fair Traders Clare Hill and Sheila Ovens can be found in St Mary’s Church each month after the morning service on the third Sunday selling Tradecraft products. Photo: Kenneth Bird
