The tenth Le Tour de Rye et Romney Marsh charity cycle ride took place last Sunday September 25 with rides of 10km, 25km, 50km and 100km.

83 riders registered, and 56 completed the longest 100km. The weather was good but there was a strong headwind back from Hythe.

Most of the riders were club riders coming from Hastings, Tenterden, Ashford and Folkstone along with a very large contingent from the Rye and District Wheelers club, which sponsored the donation of the medals.

There were just a handful of children who rode, and one regular rider from Folkstone did the 100km and then rode back to Folkstone.

The ride generated £900, half of which will go to the local Air Ambulance service and the balance will go to other charities and good causes. Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club would like to thank all those who contributed.
