Last week, Rye Cricket Club started its autumn coaching programme. On Wednesdays between 3:30pm and 5.00pm Rye Cricket Club is running the first of two 10 week coaching programmes for Rye College students. The first session saw 25 young people engaged in an introduction to the skills of cricket. The aim is to develop a college team to play local independent schools next summer. Home games to be played at the Rye Cricket Salts.

On Fridays there were a dozen young people attending the softball session from 6pm-7pm and 18 attended the hardball session from 7pm-8pm. So there are a few spaces left for anyone seeking to join the softball session.

Starting on Tuesday, November 2, from 7.00pm-8.00pm for four weeks, there will be a nets session for Colts aged 13-18 and 2nd/3rd team players. There is an invitation for Colts to bring along a parent to rediscover cricket for free.

Thanks to the Rye Community Shop for their generous support that has made the coaching programme possible. To get involved please contact Martin Blincow at blincsfamily@aol.com.
