The veterans of Icklesham Casuals defeated Sedlescombe Rangers Veterans 6-0 in the Hastings F A Veterans Cup on Wednesday evening, September 9. The Casuals led 3-0 at the interval and doubled their advantage in the second period thanks to hat-tricks from forwards Karl Tarrant and Sacha Patterson. They now have ten points from four matches and victory over Bexhill United Veterans at home next Wednesday, September 16 will see the side qualify for the final of the competition.

The 2nd team lost 4-3 to Wittersham on the same evening in a good open friendly in which they created plenty of chances. Kafka Skubay, Sam Richardson and Ryan Kane were the scorers with Joe Fraser and Kafka Skubay also hitting the woodwork.

Last Saturday, September 5, the 1st team opened their season with a disappointing 4-2 defeat away to Bexhill AAC. The performance was reasonable and it was a poor twenty minute period in the match that cost the team the points. Bradlee Mepham and Val Newman got the goals.

Strengthened by the return of a number of players, the side take on Catsfield on Saturday, September 12, at Icklesham Recreation Ground while the 2nd team open their league campaign with a visit to Magham Down. Both games kick off at 3pm.
