Last Saturday March 12 saw 16 teams compete at Icklesham Quiz Night to raise funds for the new sports pavilion project.

The early front runners were Team Name and North London Derby but, at the end of round three, Casualties had moved in to the lead. However Empty Heads, High Ford Hooligans, Stalybridge Celtic, Nobby’s Nuts, One out all out, 30 Somethings, Allsorts and Golden Arrows were all in contention after the fourth round.

We then held the raffle and did the New Pavilion Lottery Draw, which was drawn by Marc Baker, and the winners were: 1st, £50 Sharon Sellens; 2nd, £25 The Ladies Dart Team; 3rd, £15 Peter Drew; 4th, £10 Colin McPhail; 5th, £5 Tracey Young, and 6th, £5 Margaret Reeve

This Lottery is open to all and it costs £1 per month (£12 per year) and all money is split 50/50 between prizes and fund raising for the new pavilion, therefore the more members we get the bigger the prizes. Please spread the  word and contact www.icfc.co.uk.

We now moved in to round five of the quiz, and at the end of this round North London Derby were back in the lead, but in round six Empty Heads played their Joker and scored heavily, to move in front.

While this was going on at the front, Saints & Sinners, Potato Heads, Friends & Family, Flower Power plus Fab 4 were mounting their challenge. After round seven Empty Heads were still leading and held their lead to be overall winners, followed by Casualties, 30 Somethings, Allsorts, North London Derby, Golden Arrows, High Ford Hooligans, Nobby’s Nuts & Team Name.

The winning team Empty Heads received six bottles of wine, whilst the lowest scoring team Saints & Sinners received a Cadbury’s cream egg each. The profit raised for The New Pavilion Fund was £403 – another brilliant effort by all concerned.

Thanks to Icklesham Casuals FC, everyone that helped with clearing up at the end, Sean, Marc, Michelle and Mags for setting up, and to all those that donated raffle prizes and bought tickets. The next quiz is April 9.
