Presidents’ jubilee day

Next Thursday, Rye is hosting a Presidents’ jubilee day. The day will feature a match between Rye and Iden, sponsored by Concepts of Rye. The day celebrates not only the jubilee, but also an opportunity to mark the contribution of former members who we have lost recently.

David Dee memorial

David Dee, our former president, passed away in January 2020. The club has purchased a defibrillator to recognise his contribution to the club over many years. Former president Richard Merricks left a legacy to the club, which has been used to install a ramp for the disabled toilet and improve accessible steps to the pavilion. The former Rye and Iden player passed away last year, so this day provides an opportunity to mark their contributions, in an appropriate way after a time when we couldn’t be together.

There will be a lunch for players and friends at 12:30pm, followed by the match at 2:30pm, with a barbecue to follow.

We hope if people are passing they may join us for a drink and spend time on the Cricket Salts.
